There was no way were leaving Comic-Con without speaking with Greg Horn! If anyone understands how to create a sexy image -- and turn it into a successful career -- it's Greg! And if anyone grasps Bettie's "it" qualities, we knew it HAD to be Greg!

Many artists say it was Dave Stevens' Rocketeer who originally introduced them to Bettie. Greg has an entirely different Bettie discovery history. He's a military buff who first spotted her as art on a plane. If you have any Korean War or Vietnam (not-a-war... though Bettie expert Bob Schultz likely takes exception to that definition after the Navy assigned him to combat there) era photos of Bettie adorning military planes, PLEASE post 'em here!

Even if Greg's name doesn't ring a bell, we'd bet you've seen his art. Greg made a splash in the comic book world by drawing Marvel characters like ELEKTRA (example attached), EMMA FROST, and SHE-HULK. You can also spot him as the regular cover artist on the acclaimed series MS. MARVEL by Brian Reed.

Given Greg's drawing talents, it's hardly a surprise that he's been able to license his art quite successfully across a wide range of products. For example, with Warner Bros.' licensing division, Greg provided spot illustrations based on the SUPERMAN RETURNS movie, not to mention an original painting for Mattel's board game, Kryptonite Crisis. If you're into Powerade and ESPN, Greg created several illustrations of NBA star Lebron James for them.

With all of Greg's success, additional doors opened. Greg describes them as an "artist's dream" -- involving an array of non-comic book industries. They led him to creative paths for high profile projects in advertising, video games, magazine covers, editorial, boardgames, and novels.

Want to grab wallpaper -- like the attached example -- and see more of Greg's art? Swing by his site and get lost in his galleries:

Then come back here and let him know what you think.

By the way, if you're a sigtagger and like to use Greg's art, check out his revised policy on his website.

Did you miss Greg Horn while he was on the homepage? You can still hear him discuss Bettie.
