My French is really rusty and even after dumping droves of Rustoleum over it, I'm left puzzling over a June 2nd remark from La Parisienne in an online article about current pop culture pinup influence.

So, would someone who's fluent in French please step forward and clarify this sentence?

Are they claiming that Bettie was a 1920s Playmate?.... or simply that she was born during the 1920s?


Another oddity is that they chopped off the top of Bettie's photo, showing her only from the nose to her shoulders. What in the world?!? And though the article is about pinups, the Bettie image used was a "portrait" shot.
