[Sorry for the silly subject pun. This thread screamed for it.] Stripper Tempest Storm has wiggled and jiggled her way throughout this Forum. She has a rather fascinating career history, and since it intersected with Bettie's, Tempest is a newsworthy person on this Forum. So, we'll be looking at some intriguing moments from Tempest's life. Sidebar from the world of Bettie-themed coincidences: Tempest's current manager is Jan Glaser. Does that name ring a bell? If you've read Joey's thread about her nude Bettie mannequin, which received a gift dress from the Bettie Page Clothing Store in Hollywood, that's why! And that brings us to a heads-up for Bettie Page Clothing Store fans! If you haven't heard, they're opening a new store in San Francisco. Back soon with more about Tempest Storm. Please stand by!

Before going any further, we need to address the question:
WHY PUT TEMPEST STORM ON A BETTIE PAGE FORUM?
I'll let Bettie explain it to you.... from her 1998 Playboy interview with Kevin Cook:
> PLAYBOY: You appeared in low-budget burlesque films with Lili St. Cyr and Tempest Storm. > > PAGE: Tempest Storm was beautiful with her long, curly red hair. I played her maid in > Teaserama. Or was it Varietease? Those wiggle movies were the same thing over and > over. I just wiggled and mugged at the camera; I was no professional dancer.
It was Teaserama -- the one where Bettie was the title card gal (given a wink in Beyonce's latest music video). But to tell the truth, I can't tell those films apart any more than Bettie could. I had to look up the answer.
Here's "maid Bettie" helping Tempest get dressed. (Does that sofa bed look familiar?!? LOL) And what does maid Bettie get as her thanks? Tempest has the audacity to pull maid Bettie's hair!

Thanks, John! You anticipated my next post. For well wishing fans, here's a link via the Las Vegas Sun so you can send cards and other items meant for Storm: http://tinyurl.com/23u2y3fAttached is a shot from a happier moment: the June 4th boa/ribbon cutting ceremony. Good to see that Dixie Evans was able to make it! I'm parking the screenshot here in case the Las Vegas Sun moves the article and the above hyperlink goes kaput. Getting back to Tempest, a hip fracture at her age is regularly the beginning of the end for many women. Let's hope that's not the case for Tempest, who should be in physical therapy by now. The really scary aspect of the story, for me, was that Tempest hit her head. I can only hope that Tempest was able to keep her Lloyd's of London insurance policy active through the decades. Will post about that next.

As mentioned above, I hope Tempest Storm has been able to keep her Lloyd's of London insurance policy current.
What did Tempest have that Bettie didn't while she was modeling? A PR person! And that led to the media devoting quite a bit of ink to Tempest, while Bettie's life remained a mystery to fans.
One such example of Tempest's off-stage, yet spotlighted, moments came as the year was about to transition from being an old man to a new born babe: December 31, 1954. A press conference was called to allow the media to witness Tempest signing her brand-spanking-new one-million-dollar Lloyd's of London insurance policy.
While other celebrities merely insured individual body parts, Tempest had the presence of mind to insure her entire body. Her motivation? Breaking an ankle during a 1954 Minsky's performance.
The Associated Press (AP) issued a full description of the event. Two examples are attached to show how the AP release was used by newspapers.

In 1971, Tempest Storm made headlines when she faced possible prison time for non-payment of taxes, along with her ex-hubby.
Did Bettie endure analogous IRS problems?
You can only discover Bettie's dollar cringing details if you watch BETTIE PAGE REVEALS ALL.

Some eerie overlaps exist between Bettie's financial history and Tempest Storm's!
Ever wonder how someone can afford to pay for a million dollar insurance policy? In January, 1957, the UP newswire service heated up with the announcement that Tempest inked a deal that paid her $100,000 per year over a ten year period. She had to work 25 weeks per year. So, that breaks down to $4,000 per week of work.
Did Tempest invest that money wisely? Believe it or not, Tempest went from making those big bucks to utterly broke. In June, 1978, the UPI newswire spread the sad news that Tempest filed for bankruptcy.
When Bettie resurfaced on LIFESTYLES OF THE RICH AND FAMOUS in 1992, she described herself as "penniless and infamous."
Did Bettie ever get an offer that paralleled Tempest's weekly income? Watch for the mind-bending dollar details when BETTIE PAGE REVEALS ALL hits the big screen!
